Drivers set to battle for payout and prestige of iconic race
T-ZONE PROMOTIONS — LEMOORE, Calif (May 22, 2018) –> Lemoore Raceway is set to play host to one of the tracks most iconic events Friday and Saturday Night – the 17th Annual Tachi Palace Nationals.
Every Memorial Day Weekend, drivers come from far and wide, to contest for the prestige that comes with being crowned champion of the event that put Lemoore Raceway on the map. Once again, Lemoore Raceway, will be handing out $1000 to the Super 600 and Non Wing Champions. In addition, $750 is on the line for the Restricted and $500 for Jr. Sprint Champions.
The special two day format with its own accumulation of points, in association with being two individual track championship races, adds another level of pressure to those chasing a track championship. Friday Night serves as Race 4 in the track championship, and will run as a normal event. Being two individual points’ races, the preliminary night will not lock anyone into Saturday Night’s show. This is to ensure fairness to all racing for a track championship.
Saturday Night, Race 5 of the track championship, will run as a normal show with a dash for cash taking the place of a main event inversion. The top six qualifiers in each class, should they get their time back in the heat, will contest in a 10-lap dash for cash. Drivers will line up on the front stretch and pill draw to determine starting order of the dash. From there, the dash will determine the starting order for the main event, as opposed to drawing for inversion. Winner of each dash will receive $100 and the opportunity to choose the inside or outside for the main event. In the main events only, if a caution falls with 5 or less laps to go, all lapped cars will line up at the tail end of the field.
Both nights of racing will see an increased payout based on car count. The minimum of $310 is based being at least 10 cars. Totals are to be paid out on the individual race night, Friday and Saturday, with increased pay through the top 5. See pay chart.
Points will be accumulated aside from track championship points to determine a champion of the event. The champion of the event earns the guaranteed payout of $1000, $750, and $500 on top of the increased nightly payout which is contingent on size of the field.
“Memorial Day weekend growing up always meant the Palace Nationals,” said multi time winner, Michael Faccinto. “Marquee event like this one always bring out stiff competition. It was always about defending the home turf as cars would come down from up north.”
Since the events inception in 2002, the Tachi Palace Nationals has made its mark as one of the premier micro sprint races in the industry. Can the local drivers defend the home turf in this year’s edition of the Memorial Day classic? Or, are the travelers ready to steal the home race hardware?
We are set to drop the green flag on the 17th annual Tachi Palace Nationals. The stage is set for the next edition of Lemoore Raceways most prestigious race.
