Kyle Offill tallies best career Placerville Speedway Winged 360 Sprint Car finish on Saturday

Placerville, CA – June 26, 2018…Seventeen-year-old Tracy, CA racer Kyle Offill spent this past weekend making his Winged 410 Sprint Car debut at the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville on Friday and followed it up the next night by earning a career best Placerville Speedway Winged 360 finish on Saturday.
Offill had been gaining speed with each appearance at Watsonville’s Ocean Speedway, but Friday’s King of the West-NARC Fujitsu Racing Series event was the first time he had competed with a 410 engine under the hood of the Country Builders Construction/ Ochoco West No. 2K mount.
He opened the evening by timing in 19th, before finishing sixth in his heat race. It gave him the 21st starting position in the feature and after 30-laps of racing he was able to move forward and finish in 12th.
“Last Friday night at Ocean Speedway ended up being a successful debut with the King of the West-NARC 410’s for us,” Offill commented. “Once we got everything worked out early in the night we got rolling pretty well in the feature as I got more comfortable. We ended up passing the same number of cars as the eventual hard charger, so I definitely would chalk the night up as a positive outing.”
On Saturday Team KO Racing headed back up the hill to compete in another night of racing at the Placerville Speedway. Offill qualified a solid fifth overall and finished a close second in his heat race to make the A-main re-draw.
As luck would have it he drew the two pill, giving him the outside of the front row for the feature. The Tracy racer held onto the second spot during the opening laps and fought up front for the duration of the 25-lapper.
Offill eventually crossed the stripe in sixth at the checkered flag to earn his best career Placerville Speedway 360 Sprint Car finish. “When you start on the front row you never want to go backwards, but I was still happy to earn our best Placerville finish thus far. We didn’t quite have the car where we wanted in the feature but we’re certainly learning each week. I can’t thank Trevor Green, my family and our whole team enough for their support.”
This weekend Offill is scheduled to take part in a Sprint Car Challenge Tour presented by Elk Grove Ford and Abreu Vineyards double-header. On Saturday it’s right back to the Placerville Speedway and on Sunday the destination will be Petaluma Speedway.
Team KO Racing would also like to congratulate Marv Askey at Boise Cascade on his recent retirement. The entire 2K team appreciates the support received from Boise Cascade and looks forward to a continued relationship with the company.
Kyle Offill Racing would like to thank Country Builders Construction, Ochoco West, Boise Cascade, Reliable Lumber, Maas Brothers Powder Coating, B&S Hacienda Auto Body, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, Bacchetti Hay Service, Offill Family Farms, Octane Ink, HRP and T-Mac Motorsports for their support this season.
