Tracy, CA – August 28, 2018…With the special event part of the season upcoming in Northern California 18-year-old Kyle Offill and Team KO Racing is gearing up to finish the year strong and have welcomed long-time driver Jonathan Allard as new crew chief.
Offill has been idle the last few weeks for a trip to the Knoxville Nationals and to get a new car built for the busy stretch of races coming up. The Tracy wheel-man is excited to finish the season in solid fashion and looks forward to working with Allard beginning at the Gold Cup Race of Champions.
“I’m definitely ready to get back in the saddle next week at Silver Dollar Speedway,” Offill said. “Having the chance to work with someone like Jonathan Allard will be great and we’re excited to bring him on board as crew chief. We put together some good runs in early Summer and hope to do the same as we finish out the season. It’s always a great time of the year with all the big events and special shows from September to November.”
Allard is one of the more decorated competitors in Nor-Cal over the last 20-years and has often worked as a mentor to younger drivers. During his illustrious career he has captured the King of the West Sprint Car Series title on three occasions, the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup four times and the Dave Bradway Jr. Memorial a record five times. In 2014 he also claimed victory at the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series sanctioned Gold Cup Race of Champions.
“I am very happy to get back over to the states and come help a family with such a great history in our sport,” commented Allard, who is originally from Chico and has been residing in New Zealand recently. “Kyle has shown such great potential and I think we will work well together. I’m excited to get things started at the Gold Cup next week and it will be good to see everyone there.”
Offill will hit the Silver Dollar Speedway quarter-mile on Wednesday September 5 with the Civil War Sprint Car Series presented by Flowmaster and will also be in action the following night during the inaugural Platinum Cup. After that he’ll be in action virtually every weekend through November, taking part in the Nor-Cal Posse Shootout at Placerville Speedway and the Chico Fall Nationals among others.
Kyle Offill Racing would like to thank Country Builders Construction, Ochoco West, Boise Cascade, Reliable Lumber, Maas Brothers Powder Coating, B&S Hacienda Auto Body, Brown & Miller Racing Solutions, Bacchetti Hay Service, Offill Family Farms, Octane Ink, HRP and T-Mac Motorsports for their support this season.
