Sprint Car Insider – Driver Exclusive. FRESNO, Calif. (September 18, 2018) —> Caden Stoll finds himself in contention for the Delta Speedway track Championship after Last weekend’s penultimate round.

As the track Championship draws to a close he finds himself within striking distance of capturing the title. Sitting just 12 points behind Caeden Steele, it’s all on the line at the final round slated for October 6th.

Stoll started off the year at Delta Speedway by winning two of the first three races.

If history is any indication of how things may play out Stoll has to feel pretty confident. Of his three career wins, all of them have come at King of California races. Guess what the final round on October 6th is.

That’s right; final Round at Delta is also the King of California series finale.

Coming from motocross background small superstitions like that may just be the extra confidence Stoll needs to put his number 2c back in the winner’s circle. This season has been one to remember for Stoll but it won’t be complete without the title. However, he’s going to need just a little bit of luck.

Title rival Caeden Steele has been the mark of consistency this year at Delta.  Saturday night the gap was just 15 and the battle was on. Adding to the challenge on this night was season high winner Dylan Bloomfield and recent hot hand Guage Garcia. Although misfortune has kept Bloomfield out of the thick of the title hunt, his 7 wins on the season make him the spoiler for those fighting for the title. Add recent winner Guage Garcia to the mix and things are a whole lot tougher at the front.

As for Stoll, winning would be ideal, but finishing ahead of Steele is the number one priority.

He started off Saturday by doing just that. Still came away with the 6th fastest qualifying lap while Steele earned 9th. In his heat race, he went out and put in another solid performance capturing 3rd. From there it would be directly into the big points paying main Event.

Caden Stoll would start from the 7th position as the green flag waved on the 25-lap Restricted A-Main. According to the team the invert never draws in their favor and attributes a lot of that luck to the current position. But when the helmet goes on all you can do is race, no matter where the young race fan puts you with his spin of the board.

When the green flag dropped the talking stopped. Stoll charged up to the fourth position. The only hindrance for Stoll, however, was that he brought Steele right along with him. Knowing the pressure was on Stoll maintained his composure and held Steele at bay until the checkers waved.

“It was a decent night,” said Stoll. “I wish I could have won, but I need just a little bit more on the horsepower end.”

All in all, it was a good night according to Stoll. He wishes he had more motor but he has held his own just fine this season and the team knows the driver is capable of delivering in any situation.

From here on out Stoll intends to keep studying and looking for what he can improve on. Thanks to some generous support from peers in the same class Caden will make a surprise appearance at the Mark Hagopian Memorial this weekend.

“We never race at plaza so this is going to be fun,” said Stoll. “I can’t wait to get out there and run the Mark Hagopian Memorial thanks to the Pahule’s, that’s a fun race.”

With no intentions of racing, this weekend’s 2nd annual Mark Hagopian Memorial the Pahule family got wind of this and offered to sponsor Caden for the weekend. Stoll’s desire, commitment, and skill level are enough to entice even his closest competitors to help get the 2c onto the track.

Qualifying: 7th

Heat Race: 3rd
