Tyler means Buisness__ With Money on the line Its Showtime

Sprint Car Insider – Driver Exclusive. FRESNO, Calif. (September 20, 2018)->There is a Championship and $8,000 or more up for grabs this weekend between both premier classes this weekend at the Mark Hagopian Memorial and the Peoples Champ Tyler Smith wants all of it.

tyler kills keller

Around the pits, Tyler Smith is well known as a dominant force in the Non-Wing class but many fail to realize he has a better than average wing resume as well.

Even without venturing off the 2018 calendar you can see a pattern of high-level performances that put him right in the thick of contention. Again at the Clay Cup this year when the money was on the line Tyler Smith and Harry Boudakian’s number 18 could be found near the front. For the second year in a row, he landed on the podium.

It was also just one month ago when he swept the wing and Non-wing divisions at Delta. That performance plays a key role in the confidence level of Smith heading into the Mark Hagopian Memorial. At Delta, unlike the other tracks, Non-Wing and Super 600 race back to back which gives us an indication of the fitness level of Smith heading into the 50 lapper.

The writing is on the wall. Smith can get it done. He will be just as much of a threat to be crowned champion with the wing on as if it was a non-wing dual.

Once again Smith will be running double duty in search of capturing both championships come Saturday night. Even though this year isn’t paying the Non- Wing winner as much as it did last year, we must not forget that the MHM also serves as the final two points races of the Keller Auto Raceway season. This weekend could very see the first of four season championships for Smith.

When he mapped out this season the goal was clear. The goal was to win the Plaza Park, Lemoore Raceway, Delta Speedway and King of California Championships. Now that three of the four of those are out of reach the calendar is all that separates Smith from his unbelievable achievement.

If all goes as planned Tyler Tj Smith will leave the Mark Hagopian Memorial with the first of four titles from his 2018 assault.

Now if all goes Tyler’s way he will walk out of the Mark Hagopian Memorial with the MacGuyver trophy, a check for $5,000, a check for $2,000, a check for $1,000 and a track Championship. His hopes may be ambitious but history tells us it’s far from impossible.

It would mean a lot to Smith as well being he grew up a Jason Meyers fan and it would be he handing him the check. Watch for Tyler “Tj Smith as he has money on his mind. He’ll be piloting the Harry Boudakian Engines number 18 in Super 600 and the famed red and gold 14 in his traditional non-wing bout.
