Final Box Checked_ Bloomfield goes one for two at Plaza

Sprint Car Insider- Driver Exclusive. DISCOVERY BAY, Ca (September 25, 2018) – Dylan Bloomfield checked off another major box on his list of goals in route to his 13th win of the season this weekend at Keller Auto Raceway.
With victories at the three other premier tracks in the state of California already in 2018, one glaring box stood out, unchecked. Keller Auto Raceway at Plaza Park was the lone facility to elude Bloomfield up to this point of the season.
Dylan Bloomfield started his week unsure if he was even coming to the 2nd annual Mark Hagopian Memorial. Little did he know by the end of Friday Night he would be credited as a winner on the four premier Micro Sprint tracks in California.
It all began Friday with night one of the second Annual Mark Hagopian Memorial. Bloomfield turned in the 12th quickest lap of the 23 car field in qualifying. He then ran 2nd in his heat and scored a favorable inversion putting him near the front of the pack.
As the 25-lap main event rolled to green Bloomfield made short work of the field. Once he had daylight in front of him it was over. Bloomfield checked out and drove his way to the 13th victory of his stellar 2018 campaign.

It was such a great night,” said Bloomfield. “The track was fast and super racey.”
He joined Tulsa Shootout Champion, Corey Day, as the only restricted driver to win at all four tracks this season. Although Bloomfield boasts a higher win total. The two would once again square off Saturday Night, and Guage Garcia would join in the mix as well.
Saturday night started with Bloomfield turning a blistering fast lap in qualifying that stayed at the top for the majority of the session. But right at the end Corey Day came out and laid a flyer that dropped Bloomfield back to 2nd. He then finished 3rd in his heat and went to the main looking to sweep the weekend.
Corey Day and Guage Garcia battled for the lead early in the going of Saturday Nights 25-lap, main event, but as they battled hard exchanging slide jobs, Bloomfield was able to reel them in. As the race ran down to its final stages it turned into a three car battle. Then the misfortune struck for Bloomfield.
With just 7 laps to go, while within striking distance of the leaders, the leader, Guage Garcia, got tangled with a lapped car and collected Bloomfield with him. Bloomfield had no place to go and drove his Hyper right into the thick of the mess. Bloomfield came to a stop which costed him dearly.
Garcia was able to keep his car rolling and was awarded his spot back during the caution. However, the track officials ruled Bloomfield would have to rejoin at the tail end of the field because he did come to a stop. At that moment, the opportunity for win number 14, and the weekend sweep was over.
Bloomfield charged back into the top 10, earning a 10th place finish while Corey Day ended up making the pass stick on Garcia and stole the win.
“A lapped driver spun out and I hit him,” Said Bloomfield. “They sent me to the back but I still had a good race. My confidence is at a very high level and I just need to maintain this. All in all, it was a good night.”
Dylan Bloomfield would cordially like extend his sincerest thanks to – Hyper Racing, Hinkle Performance, Hamblin Motorsports, Air One, Extreme Motorsports, Delta Contracting, Von Euw Trucking, Napa Auto Parts of Brentwood and Livermore, 33 Motorsports, Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Willy, and Sue.
Dylan Bloomfield continues to have a career-best season now with 14 wins, a major title, and at least one win on all four premier tracks. His focus remains to earn the coveted Golden Driller at the Tulsa Shootout in January
