Stoll set for Local Show

stolly 10 6 title battle

Sprint Car Insider – Driver Exclusive. FRESNO, Ca (October 11, 2018) – Caden Stoll is set to give it a go in this weekends California Cup at Lemoore Raceway.

After contesting most of the year up in Stockton at Delta Speedway fighting for a title Caden Stoll will be back in the saddle at the sight of his first victory. Back in August of 2017 Caden Stoll took his PMP to victory lane for the first time during a King of California outing at Lemoore Raceway. Since that time Stoll has two more wins to his credit, both at Delta Speedway.

Coming off the heels of a runner-up finish in the Delta Speedway track Championship points Stoll looks to get himself into victory lane to alleviate some of the agony associated with coming so close. Stoll did everything in his power to win but wound up just missing it.

After winning two races early in the season Stoll managed to maintain his consistency. However, his title rival was able to grace victory lane a couple more times and finish near the front more often. The gal was just 14 points going into the finale last Saturday just out of winner take all range. The wind partially came out of the sails of Stoll as the driver he was battling took quick time and maximum points. After settling for a 9th place qualifying effort it wasn’t over but it was going to take some luck.

In Saturday nights main Event he gave a valiant charge to catch and pass the points leader. While the opportunity to do something that could have swayed the points drastically in his favor, Stoll couldn’t bring himself to win like that, and they raced clean. Although he admits he could have been more aggressive with him, he wouldn’t have felt right knowing he took the title with questionable tactics.

The King of California field Saturday was yet again as deep as Lake Tahoe. Every driver out on the 1/7th-mile was capable of winning and that made it hard to make up ground. Stoll settled for 6th with his title rival crossing the line 7th and earning the championship. After a hard fought season Caden Stoll came up just short.

Luckily for Stoll, there are still a few races left this season to capture the glory. Much to the delight of his friends and family Caden Stoll will be back in action at Lemoore Raceway Friday and Saturday night for the California Cup. Stoll looks to seize that early season momentum that got him to victory lane twice this year. With championships said and done winning in front of the hometown friends and family would mean the world to Stoll. There may or may not be an elevated purse as well, but he’s sticking with the slogan that he wants to show the home crowd who’s boss.

stolly first win

Caden Stoll will be in action this weekend thanks to Salmon Motorsports. The Salmon Motorsports team has come on board to back Caden’s effort to capture the California Cup title in the always competitive Restricted class. Recent memory proves Caden Stoll should be in contention as he rose to the occasion the last time his effort was backed at the Mark Hagopian Memorial.

Will Caden Stoll win the California Cup? Find out Friday and Saturday night at Lemoore Raceway.
