Sprint Car Insider – Driver Exclusive. FRESNO Ca. (October 12, 2018)  Raio Salmon is ready to get herself back to victory lane this weekend at Lemoore Raceway for the California Cup.

Coming into the Cal Cup amidst one of the best seasons in her career nothing at this point could mean more than capping it off with more victories. Of her six victories to date in 2018, three of them have come at Lemoore Raceway. Her success at the big track bodes well for her confidence as she aims to capture a big race victory going into the off-season.

Another thing that should have the competition reeling is her big race performance all season long. Whenever the big stage comes out and the spotlight comes on Salmon has risen to the occasion. On multiple big stages this year such as Speedweek, and The Mark Hagopian Memorial, Salmon has landed on the podium, and not to mention, Salmon also swept the Summer Sizzler at Delta. She is knocking on the door of taking the title at one of these premier events in the south. Look for the 21 to be in contention for victory.

Last weekend Salmon capped off her King of California season with a pair of decent finishes but she’s looking for more wins. Saturday at Delta she ended up finishing her stellar season at Delta Speedway with a runner-up in the overall points. Her six wins represent a career high in a single season as she returns to the site where she boasts multiple victories season after season. The way she has run in 2018 should give her even more confidence to go out and do it again.

This year the California Cup offers a staggering 2,000 dollars to win the Super 600 class. The class is sure to be full of the west coasts most prominent contenders. Don’t forget she did win night one of the 2017 Cal Cup. Getting a win this weekend could potentially lift Salmon into the upper echelon of drivers on a national scale. Considering this prominent Super 600 star has a podium finish at the Tulsa Shootout to her credit she already stands atop that national caliber pedestal. However, should she win this weekend’s Cal Cup she could be seen as a favorite to get it done in the Outlaw class come January. With six wins, two runner-up points finishes and podiums in the years most prestigious races, another big win could seal the deal on seeing everyone’s favorite pink 21 on the inside of the Tulsa Expo Center.

Come out to Lemoore Raceway this weekend to see Raio Salmon in action. Be sure to stop by the Salmon Motorsports out and tell Raio who your favorite driver is and that you want to see her win that Driller. The Cal Cup has a different format this year so be on the lookout for qualifying races and heats on Friday and the crowing finales on Saturday night.
