Mitchel Moles set to take on Cal Cup
Sprint Car Insider – Driver Exclusive. FRESNO Ca. (October 12, 2018) – Mitchel Moles is ready to get his fourth race weekend aboard the TEN-J chassis underway at the California Cup at Lemoore Raceway this weekend.
Starting tonight October 12, 2018, another edition of the California Cup kicks off at Lemoore Raceway. For Mitchel Moles, he has his eyes set on taking the elevated prize and adding his name to the winner’s list. On top of winning the Cal Cup Moles wants to become the third driver to win a feature aboard the all new and rapidly expanding TEN-J chassis company.
Moles already has some strong performances to boast after earning a podium in one of the seasons biggest races in his TEN-J debut, and a hard-fought third-place finish at last weekends King of California finale. Ordinarily a non-wing pilot, Moles has found his rhythm this year with a wing on top and especially in his new ride. Right out of the gate he displayed extreme speed by capturing quick time in his first ever attempt without a wing on the TEN-J chassis.
A pair of Podium finishes highlights his King of California final weekend as his teammate took the win on the first night at Dixon. Saturday night at Delta Moles battled hard with eventual champion Nikko Panella as they shared a sentiment after the race of how much fun they each had during what was a very clean battle. Moles says he’s getting the hang of this wing stuff as apparent as that may have already been to those watching.
Don’t forget Moles has a wing and non-wing sweep to his credit this year at Lemoore Raceway, site of this weekends two-day dual. Of his five wins in 2018 two of them came on the same night at Lemoore in sweeping fashion, something very few drivers have the ability to say they have done. As of right now, the plan is to just run the Super 600 class but that may change at the team’s discretion. Moles eagerly wants to pilot his own TEN-J non- wing car and rumor has it, that is in the works.
As for now Moles comes into one of his and his families favorite events of the year as a heavy favorite to take home the Super 600 title and the 2,000 dollar prize. This year’s Cal Cup features a new format which will see qualifying and heat race action take place Friday night and wrap up with the crowning features on Saturday.
Come out to Lemoore Raceway to catch Mitchel Moles in action aboard his all-new TEN-J chassis as he goes for the Cal Cup title.
