Sprint Car Insider – Driver Exclusive. HANFORD, Ca (October 16, 2018) Dalton the sheriff Parreira raced in his final Jr Sprint race on the track he’s found so much success on last weekend during the California Cup.

The 1/5th mile oval Lemoore Raceway is the sight of many landmarks for Parreira. Last year he reeled off his first ever 5 race consecutive win streak and established himself as one of the best Jr Sprint drivers in recent memory. This season he took his stature to a whole new level by capturing nine victories at Lemoore alone. He’s entered elite territory by closing in on the win record of PMP Jr Sprint drivers in history but the one thing he didn’t do as a Jr Sprint driver was win the Cal Cup.

As he embarks on his journey to the 600 divisions the Cal Cup crown may be the lone mark missing from his Jr Sprint resume. This weekend was a solid run for Parreira but he just missed coming out of 2018 with double-digit wins at Lemoore Raceway.

However, like Gauge Garcia, this may be just what Parreira needed heading into the biggest race of his career. Winning all the time makes it easy to slip into a groove and not turn over every stone necessary.

After finishing runner-up last weekend you can bet that Parreira will be ready to find his winning ways come January.

A few drivers have had the Sheriff in their scope all season and wanted nothing more than to beat him in his jurisdiction. You can’t win them all. When you’re the target for so long someone eventually comes along and hits it. That’s what’s happened lately for Parreira but he’s not discouraged by it. Only one driver in micro sprint racing has more wins than Dalton Parreira and that is Tyler Smith.

He may not break Gio Scelzis PMP all time Jr Sprint record but he’s put himself at the top with good company. That alone should give the Sherriff confidence heading into the Shootout And up into the Restricted class.
