Stoll Earns top 5 at Cal Cup

Sprint Car Insider- Driver Exclusive. FRESNO, Ca (October 17, 2018) – Caden Stoll returned to Lemoore Raceway, the site of his very first victory, for last weekends California Cup. Highlighting his weekend Stoll came away from the Cal Cup with a top 5 overall and qualified for the main directly out of night one.

Overall it was a successful outing for Caden Stoll as he spent the majority of the year racing up at Delta Speedway. His night one performance spoke to his skill level and ability on a very heavy race track that took a lot of horsepower to be at the front. Stoll was able to stay at the front of the pack every time he went out.

The whole weekend started off on the right foot, quite literally, with his 2nd quick qualifying performance. From there he went out and got 5th in his first heat race. In his second heat race of Friday night he drove his way to victory. With his qualifying and heat race performances combined, Stoll locked himself into the Friday night qualifier. Friday nights qualifier presented Stoll with a chance to advance directly into the main event Saturday.

He did just that.

Caden Stoll was able to roll out for the Friday night qualifier and put up a solid third place finish. His third place was good enough to lock him into Saturday’s 30-lap Cal Cup crowning feature. He even managed to out dual the eventual winner of the event on Friday night.

Saturday night Stoll wouldn’t see the track until main event hot laps. He was hoping for better track conditions but according to Caden, it was still heavy and wide open.

As the main event got under way Stoll kicked off the feature from the third position. As the two leaders slipped away Stoll managed his car under the conditions in a solid top 4 run. It wasn’t until the closing stages of the race when a driver on a fierce charge was able to make a move on Stoll pushing him back to 5th. At the end of 30-laps Caden Stoll would bring his PMP Chassis home with a solid top 5 on the weekend.

In what many consider to be the fastest class in America a top 5 is nothing to shake a stick at. With the season he has had and the variables he has had to overcome with his ability alone, Caden Stoll has had a massively successful season.

Catch Caden Stoll in action next from Turkey Bowl XVIII at Delta Speedway. As runner up in the points battle at Delta one more opportunity for victory lies ahead, and it pays to win.
