Bloomfield Ready for the Big One – It’s Tulsa Time

Sprint Car Insider- Driver Exclusive. Discovery Bay, Ca. (December 18, 2018) – From the moment Dylan Bloomfield strapped his helmet on for the first time this year there has been an end game, a grand plan, a grand finale, and here we are.

It’s Tulsa time.

Driving aboard the Airone, Hinkle Performance, Brand New, lightning-fast, #33 – 2019 Hyper Chassis, Discovery Bay California’s 2018 Restricted California SPEEDWEEK Champion, Dylan Bloomfield will be in action inside of the River Spirit Tulsa Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the 34th Annual Lucas Oil Tulsa Shootout, January 1-5, 2019. Set to take on the Restricted class against the best in the nation racing kicks off on January 2nd. On the surface hailed as hallowed racing grounds, Bloomfield is ready for the granddaddy of them all – The Shootout.

It is the most coveted prize in all of Micro Sprint racing. It is the goal these drivers envision when they lay their head at night, it’s the title that will always hang in the rafters, it’s the moment one driver will remember the rest of their life. Hoisting a Golden Driller is more than a picture op with a unique trophy – it a time honored tradition that could potentially propel a career into the next level.

Now the moment has arrived. The time for talk is over. After all of the wins, the missed opportunities, the nights they wished they had back, none of it matters now. Everyone takes on the same beast in Tulsa.

Dylan Bloomfield rocketed onto the scene this year with blistering performances, and rock solid confidence, from the beginning he’s been a contender. Amongst some of his stiffest competition was the litmus test. The very winner of this race last year – Corey Day. Corey Day was a relatively new driver to the class, with little expectation, who went out and laid down the Gauntlet. Having raced Day side by side, and having his fair share of triumphs, Bloomfield carries with him the distinct confidence that he can get it done.

However the Shootout is much more than just a race. The elements of pressure, timing, and prestige can all play a factor. By the end of the week in Tulsa I’f you’re hoisting a Driller, it was done by mastering much more than just on-track performance. There are sure to be trying times that test the will of seasoned professionals. The way Bloomfield handles it will surely play a factor.

As far as the car and logistics go everything is in place. Crew Chief Chris Hinkle will be hauling the brand new 2019 Hyper across Interstate 40 as the Bloomfield’s fly in on the 31st with their driver primed and prepped to handle nothing but business. It’s been three years since the Bloomfield made the pilgrimage to the Expo Center for Jr Sprint glory. Now they come in with one goal and only one thing on their mind – bringing home some extra luggage, some Golden luggage.

All indications show Bloomfield will enter the Shootout with as much confidence as he left Speedweek with. After a test session at Delta Speedway last weekend the rust is off, the hunger is there, and now it’s Driller Hunting season.

There is no more waiting. The time is now.

It’s Tulsa time!
