Sprint Car Insider- Driver Exclusive. VISALIA, Calif. (February 25, 2019) > BREAKING NEWS: Jett Barnes has been approved by the Red Bluff Outlaws to run double duty at the upcoming Red Bluff Outlaws West Coast Nationals March 15-17 to conclude the Red Bluff season.
After running a torrid pace at the last few races in Beginner box, and clamoring to be allowed to run in the class above, Box Stock, the news has come in. Seven year old Jett Barnes will be allowed to contest in both classes legally at the West Coast Nationals. A championship would certainly be special, and now Barnes has doubled his chances. But Barnes has his sights set on taking home both titles.
Box Stock is nothing new for Barnes. He generally runs the class at “the Barn,” or Chowchilla Barn Burner, and is always in contention for wins. In accordance with the Red Bluff rules however, Barnes has not been allowed to run Box Stock and many around the pits agreed that he was more than capable of running the class in Red Bluff as well.
Well they made a mention of it, got in touch with the right people, plead their case, and here we are. Jett Barnes is locked and loaded for double duty. But the support from those in the pits goes deeper. Barnes will not be competing both classes in his own car.
Thanks to Myers racing, Jett will be competing in Michael Green’s Car in the Box Stock class. Travis Myers has officially offered up the ride to Barnes and things are already in the works. Barnes and Myers have been helping each other for about two years now after becoming friends at the Kyle Larson showcase. The two families are dedicated to providing the best opportunities for their children, and this time Myers elected to give his boys ride to Barnes for the big show. Green had an amazing year and came so close to winning a title at the Barn but this go around he will be cheering on his friend Jett to win two titles at the Red Bluff Outlaws West Coast Nationals.
Look for Jett Barnes to be running up front in the Beginner Box and Box Stock classes March 15-17 in Red Bluff for the West Coast Nationals. He’s doin double duty.
Jett Barnes racing would like to thank MCR Engines for providing the best power plant in the sport. They also extended their sincerest thanks to – the Michelette family, DRC plumbing , and Brown racing, none of this would be possible without the dedication and unyielding support of the wondering families of racing such as yours.
Also Nick Barnes wants to offer anyone who needs any scale work, driver coaching, or any kind of help you can think of, to get in touch with him, and he’d be glad to help. He sincerely wants to “pay it forward,” to the next fortunate parent, he offer the same help he has received. The Barnes family could not be more thankful for everyone’s help and support. There’s nothing like race families.
Following the West Coast Nationals Barnes gets back behind the wheel of his Jr Sprint where he comes into the season as a major favorite nationwide, and especially at the local circuits.
