Sprint Car Insider- BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (March 15, 2019) ->Ben Worth is set to make his midget racing debut tonight at Kern County Raceway Park with the Power-i/BCRA midget series aboard Dean “Kiwi” Alexander’s #5 Spike/Essingler.
“I’m really excited to get behind the wheel of a midget for the first time,” said Worth. “I have a lot of non Wing micro experience, and plenty of wing sprint Car experience, I’m ready to finally try a midget, it’s something I’ve always really wanted to do.
This will be the first race of the 2019 season for Worth in the Golden State and it’s going to be a busy one. Not only will Worth be competing in the midget tonight at Kern County, but Sunday night, Worth jumps back behind the wheel of his #10j 600 micro sprint at Delta Speedway for their season opening World of Outlaw exhibition.
“Ever since we left Tulsa I’ve been dying to get race season going,” said Worth. “Now that it’s here it feels like time is just flashing by, but I’m ready.”
Worth comes into the season riding a wave of momentum as the reigning Tulsa Shootout Outlaw Class Champion. After capturing the biggest race in all of Micro Sprint racing Worth has his sights set on broadening his horizons and capturing success in multiple disciplines of racing.
“I’m definitely focused on continued success in the micro,” said Worth. “My crew works really, really hard, and I want to do the best for them, but I’m also ready to expand my career, and show other car owners that I would be a good candidate for any open sprint car or midget rides or opportunities available in the future.
Tonight Worth checks one box on that list by jumping aboard Kiwi’s Spike Chassis #5 against the full field of Power-i/BCRA midget contenders. All indications show the series’ debut at the track will field a healthy count in the division. Worth’s number one goal tonight is to run solid laps, make the main, and roll the car into the trailer the same way it rolled out.
Ben Worth looks to continue to carry the momentum he built back in December with him throughout the entire 2019 campaign.
Race one of 2019 for Ben Worth kicks off tonight at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, California, aboard a midget and continues Sunday Night at Delta Speedway, in Stockton, California behind the wheel of the 600. It’s going to be a brand new experience for Worth coming into competition as the reigning champion of such a prestigious race, but he’s ready for the challenge.
