Stoll Shoes to Jet Bowl Classic Title
Sprint Car Insider- LEMOORE, Calif. (April 10, 2019) – Caden Stoll drove to the Stock 600 victory in just his second start in the class during night two of Lemoore Raceway’s Second Annual Jet Bowl Classic.
He knew he could do it too. Stoll came into 2019 beaming with confidence and its transpired early.
“Qualifying may be tough but I really feel good about getting into race conditions,” Stoll said. “I’m running the same car as I did in Restricted with carbs and all but I just want to race so bad I’ll do whatever it takes.”
So far this season Stoll has proven his prowess in the class. On both occasions, the Outlaw Nationals, and Jet Bowl Classic, He has been a prominent contender in the mix each night out. While he may have been right about being down on power during qualifying as the results indicate he has overcome the disadvantage by utilizing his instinctive race craft and marginalizing the slimmest mistakes.
“If I make a single mistake my whole race is over,” Stoll said. “But it’s turned out to be a good thing because I’m learning to be a more precise, smarter driver.”
The Jet Bowl Classic went green last Friday night. In qualifying Stoll turned up fifth quick and followed that with sixth in his heat. But he turned it all around in the main.
The night one main event got the ball of momentum rolling for Stoll. As the battle at the front intensified Stoll got up on the wheel and charged his way toward the action. At the end of 25-laps Stoll brought the car home with third place.
He was feeling it after night one and he showed it on Saturday.
Only one event on Saturday’s night two of the Jet Bowl Classic eluded Stoll. He timed in fourth quick but it was over from there.
Stoll came out and ran away from the field in his heat race. He then charged through the dash and picked up $100 and the pole position for the 25-lap Stock 600 main event. On night two Stoll stared his best opportunity to win at Lemoore Raceway since his career-first victory in 2017.
Stoll drove exactly the way he needed to for all 25 laps. As he rounded turn four coming to the checkered flag he clinched his fist in triumph. Just two rounds, and three races into his rookie season beyond the Restricted class Caden Stoll found victory lane.
“I’m so excited to win again, Stoll said. “This is why we race, this is fun.”
It was an emotional celebration as Stoll, his family, his team, and numerous fellow competitors came and congratulated him. He got the job done.
Now Caden Stoll looks to grab more wins and possibly fight for a title as the season moves forward. Catch Stoll in action next this weekend at Keller Auto Raceway Plaza Park for Round three of Plaza’s Track championship season.
