Lovenburg Racing – Quarterly Report 1 – Through Eight Races in 2019

Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider- Driver Exclusives. VISALIA, Calif. (May 6, 2019) – Cash and Ty Lovenburg have already held their share of success in 2019 after eight races but as the season moves forward both boys are in search of even more.

Following the last race weekend at Keller Auto Raceway Plaza Park And Lemoore Raceway, Cash says he is tired of being the bridesmaid. However, he currently holds the points lead at Plaza by 41. After two strait second place finishes to different drivers Cash is hungry to get back on the top step of the podium. Especially after Friday’s race at Plaza when he was consistently the fastest driver on the track according to the stop watch. As a matter of fact Cash has been the fastest timed driver on the track in 17 out of the 25 on track races this season including heat races, and main events. At Plaza Park the number is 11 out of 12.

“Hopefully this will motivate him moving forward,” Brandon Lovenburg said. “Were in it for points so finishing either 1st or 2nd in our first eight races is nothing to complain about.”

As for Ty Lovenburg Friday’s race at Plaza represents one of his best finishes of the season and his third top five of 2019. As every race passes Ty has been in line with the goal st the start of the season and that is showing consistent improvement. The next night at Lemoore wasn’t the following result the team was looking for but he still turned in a consistent seventh place finish adding another marker to his top-ten column. After eight races Ty sits 4th in the Lemoore Raceway standings and 4th at Plaza Park as well, only 96 down from the leader – his brother.

The season up to this point has been dominant for Cash if you’re looking at the grand scheme of things. Through eight races he has not finished worse than second and sits as the points leader at Plaza, and second at Lemoore, down by just 31. What has Cash reeling for more wins is the fact that he sees the win total could be twice what it reads. To start the season up on Delta Cash nearly had the win in the bag before getting caught in lapped traffic and relenting the lead with just a lap to go. He did the same thing at Lemoore on the first night and hasn’t gotten to victory in Lemoore yet this season.

Something to remember however is the old racing adage that says, “Championships are won on your bad night.” If second is going to be considered a bad night, then things are going very well. It is Championship or bust for Cash Lovenburg this season and he is laser focused on achieving that goal. His two victories made statements as well. The first one was the answer to losing so late at Delta and that elevated his confidence while slipping into the other drivers heads. His second win was just a night of pure domination that no one had a candle for. In both instances it’s bode well for both his internal beliefs, and for letting the competition know, he won’t be rattled.

As the season moves forward Cash looks to maintain that momentum and carry it to a title. But, Cash comes to win, at this point winning is the number one thing on his mind. Look for Cash to find the top step of the podium sooner than later.

Ty Lovenburg has continued to impress in his second season of racing. With three top 5s and six top 10s out of eight races Ty has gained invaluable amounts seat time with a new lesson each time. His numbers are dropping (lap Times), his distance to the leaders is shrinking, and every other stat that decreases to display an increase of production is are on the fall. Or is it on the rise? The numbers are falling and the successful counts are rising. March and April were good for Ty Lovenburg. Now he looks to continue on the path of improvement.

That’s the first quarter of the race season already in the bag. Seasons come and go so quickly there is no time for stalling. Cash has exemplified that notion and looks to carry it with him into the next three. He’s got titles on his mind as the race season hits it’s front. But first, be on the lookout for more wins. Cash Lovenburg wants to be the bridesmaid no more.

Catch the Lovenburg racing duo in action this weekend from Keller Auto Raceway at Plaza Park for the 9th race of the teams season and Race 5 for Plaza Park. Saturday they pack it up and do it all over again back at Lemoore Raceway for race four of their season. Find out what the beginning of the next quarter has in store right here.
