Coming into the opener at Dixon, Trevino ranked high on the list of favorites in the Restricted class. Being the Delta Speedway points leader, and having multiple wins, and podiums to his credit in 2019 – Trevino entered Speedweek as one to watch. Through two nights Trevino has proven that sentiment to be true; with his two podium finishes, he’s been on the cusp of winning all week long.

At the opener at Dixon on Tuesday, Trevino qualified eighth, and then dominated his heat race, with precision and throttle control, after staring in the third position. His efforts landed him the third starting position for the main event. While the battle raged on around him Trevino was able to hold his head together and bring home a third place, podium finish, to get his week started off on the right foot.

As the series moved to Delta Speedway Trevino came into night-two third in points, just 10 out of the lead. At round-two, many felt Trevino had the upper hand considering his performance on the 1/5 mile this season.

His night started off with an improvement in qualifying. He earned the third quick time. He went into the heat and made up positions that landed him in the top four redraw on the night.

Luck proved to be on Trevino’s side as he drew the number 1 card during the redraw. The field was set for 25-laps around Delta Speedway and Logan Trevino would show the way.

He jumped out to the early lead of the main event and seemed to be in control. He was able to maintain the margin back to second, even we he approached lapped traffic. However as the race continued the lapped traffic ahead of Trevino got thick and dicey. With laps winding down Trevino tip toed through traffic and that allowed the driver in second to capitalize.

As Wednesday nights main event came to the stripe for six-to-go, Trevino relented the lead. He put on one final charge just as time ran out. Trevino opted to take a positive points night to roll the car into the trailer with second. Although it wasn’t what he wanted, now he has become the man to beat in the Restricted class heading into The infamous Plaza Park.

Leaving Delta Speedway Logan Trevino has overtaken the points lead and now holds an 8 point margin over second in Speedweek standings, Jade Avedisian.

Only two races remain, Friday night at Keller Auto Raceway, and Saturday night at Lemoore Raceway. Trevino’s confidence should be high considering he has a race win at Plaza and stock class podiums at Lemoore. The ball is in Logan Trevino’s court. Can he bounce it in his favor?
