Kyle Offill claims Chico point lead on Friday and tallies 7th place finish Saturday with KWS-NARC in Petaluma

Chico, CA – July 15, 2019…After celebrating his 19th birthday last week Tracy’s Kyle Offill proceeded to tally a third place effort on Friday night in Chico to help take over the Silver Dollar Speedway point lead, before claiming a seventh place finish on Saturday with the King of the West-NARC 410 Sprint Car Series in Petaluma.
At the start of the season Offill and Team KO Racing set out to run regularly at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico and with three events remaining in the championship season find themselves on top of the standings by 44-points. This past Friday’s program saw him qualify sixth fastest and run second in the heat race to earn an outside front row starting spot in the 30-lap feature.
At the drop of the green flag Offill grabbed the lead and paced the first half of the race while fending off two of the best that the quarter-mile has to offer in Sean Becker and Andy Forsberg. After a thrilling conclusion to the main event he brought home a fourth-place finish at the checkered but was moved to third when the second-place car failed to scale.
“It was a solid outing for us on Friday night in Chico and although I would have liked to win, there’s no shame in finishing behind Sean Becker and Andy Forsberg,” Offill commented. “Both Sean and Andy are pretty much synonymous with that place, so it was definitely a good learning experience. Hopefully we can maintain this point lead over the final few shows and maybe bring home a track championship.”
On Saturday the team headed for Petaluma Speedway to compete with the King of the West-NARC Fujitsu 410 Sprint Cars. The third-year Sprint Car driver timed-in sixth overall to begin the evening, before scoring a fourth-place finish in his heat race. Offill then started from the outside of row four in the A-main and hung tough to snag a seventh-place finish after 30-laps of hard fought racing on the 3/8-mile adobe oval.
“Our usual crew chief Jonathan Allard had a ride to compete himself on Saturday, so we were happy to have Peter Murphy in our pit to wrench the car along with Dillon Paddock,” he said. “Peter is a great teacher as well and we had a fun time together competing with King of the West-NARC. Petaluma can be a challenging track at times and we were happy with a seventh place result in the feature. I want to thank everyone that supports us and makes this all possible.”
The 19-year-old driver returns to action for two big nights of racing at the ninth annual Howard Kaeding Classic in Watsonville this weekend. This Friday’s opener features the Civil War 360 Sprint Car Series, while Saturday showcases the King of the West-NARC 410 Sprint Cars. The event has grown into one of the biggest showcases for Sprint Car racing in the Golden State and features extra happenings at the track all weekend long, in addition to extra money being on the line Saturday night.
