Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. Driver Exclusive- MANTECA, Calif. (July 24, 2019) – > Sage Bordenave earned his fifth top five performance of the 2019 season with his second consecutive 4th place finish Saturday night at Dixon Speedway.

Following his fourth place finish the previous week at Delta, Sage followed it up with another 4th the very next weekend at Dixon. This was the fifth time of the season Sage has kept the Sunny Valley Smoked Meats 77 inside of the top 5. Bordenave is creeping closer and closer to the illustrious first win of the season.

Saturday night at Dixon all began with when Sage dropped the 5th quickest lap of the field in qualifying. That set him up for a brilliant heat race run. He put the 77 out front in the heat and never looked back. Bordenave brought home his second heat race win of the season. Leading laps and staying at the front is building confidence as well which will bode well for him when he’s in that position in the feature.

His qualifying and heat race runs landed him a spot in the trophy dash. A welcomed sight for the multi time Dixon Speedway race winner still in search of his first victory this year. Bordenave was able to manage the 5th Place finish in the trophy dash earning himself the 5th starting position for the 20-lap main event.

When the main event started Bordenave kept the 77 out of trouble and on the trek forward. When the checkered flag waved the 77 was scored in the fourth position for the second week in a row. It was a solid performance for Sage. It fit right where his car seemed to perform as well. The 77 had the 4th fastest lap time of the main event. As the season goes down to the wire Sage Bordenave’s confidence level keeps getting higher and higher.

Now with 12 features under his belt Sage has nine top tens and now five top fives. He is working his way up to earning podiums and wins. But his consistency has him right in the thick of the track championship fights. At Dixon he currently sits 4th in standings just 79 points out of 3rd. At Delta he currently sits 10th in the stands just three points out of 9th and 122 down from the lead.

Both tracks are in action this weekend as well making it a double header for the driver of the Sunny Valley Smoked Meats 77. Friday night Dixon Speedway turns the lights on for Race 9 and Saturday Delta hosts their 8th championship points event of the year. The season is going down to the wire at both tracks.
