Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. Driver Exclusive- MADERA, Calif. (July 24, 2019) – > Logan Trevino brought home the Prosperi/Trevino Racing, number 7t, D1, home in the 8th position of the Restricted main event Saturday night during the Clay Cup finals at Deming Speedway.
Saturday night was the 21st feature of the season for Trevino and his 20th top ten. His eighth place finish represents him finishing exactly where he started the night. Preliminary night results from the Clay Cup Nationals were a little bit more favorable to Trevino.
On Friday night he kicked off his night by qualifying 8th quick in the field. But he followed that up with a brilliant heat race performance that ended with him taking the win. Logan drove the 7t to top 5 in Friday’s feature. He finished the prelim main event in 5th Place locking down his 18th top five in 20 races to that point. His Friday results put him in 8th position in overall points heading into the finale. Main event lineups for the Clay Cup Finale we’re set to line up strait-up on qualifying points so Trevino started Saturday’s Main from outside of row four.
In Saturday’s 25-lap Clay Cup Finale Trevino didn’t lose a spot. He brought the car home in the same position it went out in – 8th. As it stands now Logan Trevino’s season Statistics stand at 21 features, 20 top 10’s, 18 top 5’s, 12 podiums, and 3 wins. With Clay Cup in the books his attention turns back home.
A top ten showing at one of the biggest races of the season gives him some motivation to come home and finish the home stretch of the season. He still has plans of running down a Restricted class championship at both Delta Speedway and Keller Auto Raceway.
After his last race at Delta, although he scored another solidly consistent runner up finish, he ended up relenting the points lead. Going into round eight at Delta Speedway Logan Trevino now sits two points out of the Restricted 600 championship points lead. It just so happens that the Clay Cup Champion is also breathing down his neck in third.
It’s going to be a captivating run down to the finish with six championship point races remaining at Delta Speedway. Trevino has two of his three wins this season at Delta Speedway and in order to give himself the chance at a title, win number four of the year would do wonders for him now. The first edition of the rundown to the title at Delta kicks off this Saturday with a return to the SanJoaquin County fairgrounds for round 8.
As far as Keller Auto Raceway Plaza Park goes – that championship will resume on Friday August 9th. Trevino currently sits third in the restricted class standings at plaza with five races remaining in the championship season. With one win to his credit at Plaza, Trevino finds himself just 32 points out of the top spot as that title is very much up for grabs as well.
Logan Trevino gets back to the task at hand this weekend at Delta Speedway. Race 8 of Delta Speedway’s track championship season kicks off Saturday night. Trevino will be making the trip
To Stockton in search of his fourth win of 2019 and with the sole purpose of claiming his place back atop the standings.
Logan Trevino and everyone at Trevino/Prosperi Racing would like to cordially thank all of their sponsors for their continued support, and belief in the program.
