Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. Driver Exclusive-VISALIA, Calif. (July 30, 2019) -> Jett Barnes drove his way to his 13th victory of the 2019 season Friday night at Dixon Speedway in just his 22nd feature of the year.
Friday night marked the return to victory lane for Barnes who has more wins this season than losses. Batting 500 is one of the hardest things to do in sports period. In the sport of racing the only few to have such records are names like Carmichael, Kinser, Schatz, and Schumacher.
Barnes decided to make the drive up to Dixon from Visalia early in the week after coming home from a runner up at the Clay Cup Nationals. According to Nick Barnes there were some things they needed with the car and the double header weekend served as the perfect opportunity.
The only time Barnes wasn’t on top of the finishing order Friday night was in qualifying. He came home second quick but it was lights out from that point forward.
Barnes went out and won his heat. He then followed it up with a Trophy Dash win and earned the pole position for the Dixon Speedway Race 9 Jr Sprint main event.
Barnes took the green flag from the lead and never looked back. Although second kept him honest he was able to win by a margin over 1.5 seconds and turned the fastest time of the race. Barnes’ win was the start of a TEN-J Chassis sweep and actually the 70th win in the brands history. (The Prodigy guy messed up the post)
On Saturday Barnes went down to Stockton for the second race of the doubleheader weekend at Delta Speedway. Race 8 of the Delta Speedway track championship series didn’t go as well as Dixon but Barnes still captured his 18th podium of the season.
The Delta format sees Jr Sprint drivers do two heat races followed by a main event. Barnes took home second in the first heat after starting back in 9th. In the second heat he started in second and was able to win.
As the 20 lap main event took off Barnes started from the 4th position. He charged up to second but it was all he had on this night. At the stripe Barnes took home the runner up spot to earn his 18th podium and 20th top 5 in just 23 races.
With 18 podiums Barnes holds an incredible 78% podium rate. With 20 top 5’s it’s an 86% top 5 rate and with 13 wins he has won 56% of his races in the Jr Sprint to date in 2019.
Those numbers are simply astounding. Barnes will be back in the Jr Sprint Saturday night at Delta Speedway once again for his 24th race of the season and Race 9 in the Delta Speedway Championship.
On the line Saturday night is the opportunity to exclusively be the 75th win in the history of TEN-J Chassis.
History is on the line Saturday night. Will Barnes be the brands Diamond winner?
