Rocha Sweeps Stock Weekend

Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. HANFORD, Calif. (August 11, 2019)- Ryan Rocha posted a clean sweep of the Stock 600 class this past weekend by winning at Plaza Park Friday and at Lemoore Raceway on Saturday.

His double dose of victory this weekend accounts for his third and fourth Stock 600 wins of the 2019 season. In addition to padding his win total the season podium count increased to nine, with 16 top five finishes, and 29 top tens in 41 features.

“We got this car figured out,” Rocha said. “Racing in the Stock class is really good right now. The competition is very tough, they race hard, but we can trust each other. No matter how hard you race in this class you don’t have to worry about getting garbage canned in the next corner. I really enjoy racing with these guys in the Stock class.”

Rocha’s weekend began Friday night at Keller Auto Raceway Plaza Park for Race 7 of the track championship season. He entered the night 71 points out of the lead in the Stock class and 112 out of the lead in the Restricted class with just a handful of rounds remaining.

As qualifying took to the track he was able to time in third quick in stock and 11th quick in Restricted. The Stock heat race was Rocha’s lone blemish of the night as he fell back one position to finish fourth after starting third. He won his Restricted heat race and the night was all up from that point forward.

In the first main event of the evening and Rocha’s first time back in the seat since Clay Cup – he started the 25-lap Stock 600 main event from the third position. It did not take him long to find his way two positions forward to the top spot and check out. He lead the field all the way to the checkered earning his third win of the season.

In the Restricted main event his work was cut out for him. Challenged with the 11th starting spot Ryan has to push his way forward the entire Restricted main event. At the end of 25 laps he was able to gain four spots and earn his 27th overall top ten of the season.

As the weekend turned to Lemoore Raceway in Saturday for Race 10, the Stock class became the element of premium focus as a weekend sweep laid on the line.

He qualified the 4th quick overall and that was the final time on Saturday night that the 5R did not occupy the top spot on the scoreboard in the Stock class. Ryan proceeded to win his heat race from the pole and landed himself the top starting position for the main event.

It was P1 from start to finish in the Stock class Saturday night at Lemoore. He started from the pole and never looked back. Ryan Rocha dominated the 25 main event to claim his second consecutive Stock class victory at Lemoore and second win of the weekend.

It was a clean sweep for Ryan Rocha.

As the series at both tracks goes down to the wire Ryan finds himself in the runner up position in points at Plaza Park and third at Lemoore. With only four rounds remaining at Lemoore Ryan still has a very realistic shot at the Stock class title as he sits just 112 points down. At Plaza Park he is well within striking distance in second just 58 points out of the lead.

The championship fights at both tracks are going down to the wire. Rocha will be back in action in two weeks when Plaza Park and Lemoore Raceway turn the lights on once again. Friday August 23, Plaza Park fires off Round 8 and Saturday August 24, Lemoore goes green with Round 10.

As the end of the season draws nearer Ryan Rocha is finding his stride. Stay updated with all of the details as well as his results as they happen by following Prodigy Race Promotions on Instagram and Facebook.

The championship chase for Ryan Rocha is in full swing. Don’t miss a second of the action resuming Friday August 23 at Plaza Park.
