Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. Driver Exclusive- RANCHO MURRIETA, Calif. (August 20, 2019) -> Lucas Mauldin won his sixth Jr Sprint race of the season Saturday night at Delta Speedway.

Mauldin came into Race 10 at Delta holding a 35 point advantage atop the standings. Saturday’s win was more than just his sixth win of the season. It was his fifth win at Delta alone, increasing his points margin to 42 with just four races remaining.

Saturday’s win also represents six wins in 18 features meaning he has officially won 1/3 of his starts. Beyond his win count Saturday accounts for his 13th podium finish of the year, 14th Top Five, and 17th Top Ten. The numbers are staggering for the young pilot of the 55x D1 JRX.

The weekend trip to Delta started with heat race 1A for the Jr Sprint division. Mauldin started back in the 4th position before giving an indication of what was to come on the night. He surged through the field before finding his way to the front and capturing his first checkered flag of the evening.

Heat race 2A was more of the same for Mauldin except this time he started up front. He lead the field around the Delta Speedway surface the entire distance and took his second checkered flag of the evening. All that remained was the 20-lap Jr Sprint feature with the potential to cap off a perfect night.

Lucas Mauldin came around to take the green flag on the Race 10 main event at Delta Speedway from the 3rd position. He quickly picked off the two drivers ahead of him and found his way to familiar territory out in front. He then proceeded to drive away without looking back. Mauldin crossed the finish line with a 4.8 second advantage over second to earn his sixth victory of the season and fifth at Delta Speedway.

Up next Mauldin travels back down to Visalia and the site of his other victory back in April – Keller Auto Raceway Plaza Park. Friday night Mauldin will be in action at Race 8 of Plaza Park’s track championship season. Last time out at Plaza he came away with a podium finish and currently runs in the top five in the points standings as well.

Friday night will be the 19th race of the season for Mauldin and seventh race at Plaza Park.
