Ashton Torgerson Earns Third Win of 2019 First in TEN-J

Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider – Driver Exclusive. MEDFORD, Ore. (August 26, 2019) – Ashton Torgerson drove his way to victory Saturday night at Dixon Speedway for the first time in his new TEN-J Chassis and for the third time this year.

Torgerson’s win of Race 11 at Dixon couldn’t have come at a better time as he had just overtaken the points lead following race 10. He entered Saturday night with a narrow four point lead over second and did exactly what he needed to put the 2019 Dixon Speedway Restricted class Championship well within reach with only four races remaining,

Following Saturday nights performance Ashton Torgerson now has three wins in 39 combined features between the Restricted, Stock, and Non Wing classes. In addition to three wins he also has nine podiums, 13 top fives, and an astounding 32 top tens. The season of racing in the Golden State has been largely successful up to this point.

Ashton’s weekend kicked off down in Visalia, California at Keller Auto Raceway for Round 8 of their track championship season. He came into Friday night with a three race quick time streak in qualifying that came to an end with his fourth quick qualifying performance.

“I’m bummed that my qualifying streak came to an end,” Torgerson said. “But oh well, hopefully now it’s time to start a winning streak.”

The winning streak didn’t get the chance to start Friday night. Ashton brought the number 02 TEN-J home in the 6th position earning his 31st top ten of the year.

However Saturday night it was on to Dixon Speedway for Race 11.

Saturday started with good vibes as Ashton had already tasted victory at Dixon this season and his performances in the new car have been promising. As mentioned he entered Saturday’s race as the new points leader in the Restricted class with the championship season hitting the home stretch.

Ashton timed in fifth quick in qualifying and that was the lowest position he’d be on the leader board all night. He won his heat race and put himself into the trophy dash. In the trophy dash he came home second earning him the second starting position for the 20-lap Restricted class main event.

Ashton came to the green flag from the outside pole and quickly took command of the field. He showed the way all the way to the checkered flag. The newly crowned points leader earned a pivotal win extending his points lead at a critical time with four races remaining. Saturday’s win was not only his third win of the season, it was his first in the TEN-J Chassis.

“It was really good to get a win again,” Torgerson said. “The new TEN-J is awesome and I’m so happy to get the win for those guys and put my name on their win count.”

The TEN-J brand currently has 88 victories total and now Ashton Torgerson is officially one of them.

“Ashton’s win was awesome,” said Jerrod Huckleberry of TEN-J. “I knew it wouldn’t be long honestly, the kid has got everything it takes to be successful, we just have to keep giving him cars that make him happy.”

Ashton Torgerson will look to keep his win streak alive this weekend at Delta Speedway in Stockton, California as they mount up for a double header this weekend. The Dual at Delta is on tap this weekend for Torgerson Racing. The Labor Day tradition at Delta Speedway is slated to represent round 11 and 12 at the famed 1/7 mile oval on the San Joaquin County fairgrounds.
