Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. Driver Exclusive- BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (September 3, 2019) – > Brody Fuson took home the win in a focus Midget Saturday night at Ventura Raceway during just his third career start.
The young prodigy took the next step in the progression of his career Saturday night. At the fresh young age of 14, Fuson added to his resume of attributions showing that his adaptability is above average and that his mental fortitude is not easily dismantled. He could have let his bad luck the past few weeks in the micro hinder his confidence or disrupt his performance. Neither was the case as he handled the event with a smile all weekend long and drove with as much confidence as ever.
Saturday started off with quick time. His top level qualifying effort sure did bode well for his confidence going into the rest of the event. In the heat race he mixed it up, got even more comfortable, and came through with the runner up finish.
As he came to the green flag in his third career focus Midget main event from the front row he felt as confident as ever that he could stay up front. Fuson could not be shaken and could not be rattled. He held court like he’s been doing it his whole life, wheeling the number 51 Midget around Ventura Raceway like a seasoned veteran.
His will to win was too much for the competition Saturday night. Fuson captured the checkered flag in just his third attempt.
Fuson continues to make a name for himself as he climbs the ladder of rankings. He has many of the attributes team and car owners are looking for and has the attitude and appearance that companies and corporations would love to have represent them. Brody Fuson is arriving on everyone’s radar.
This weekend it’s back to Plaza Park and Lemoore Raceway in the 600 micro sprint for Fuson. Surprisingly Fuson only has one win on the season, but those results on paper don’t tell the whole story. If it weren’t for bad luck, the 51 would have no luck at all. He’s shown speed, and been plenty fast enough to win on several occasions, but luck just wouldn’t see it fit.
This weekend he looks to get back to the top step of the podium at Keller Auto Raceway Plaza Park in the last race at Plaza before the , much-anticipated Mark Hagopian Memorial. Last year Fuson got the golden ticket into the 50-lap super 600 feature, this year he hopes to be in the pole shuffle, and contending for the 5k winners purse at the end of the weekend.
He’ll also be in action at Lemoore Raceway, the site of his lone win this season. Saturday night he hopes to be standing in victory lane at the end of race 11.
