Lovenburg’s Strong in Podium and Top Five Performances

Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider- Driver Exclusive. VISALIA, Calif. (September 2, 2019) – > Cash and Ty Lovenburg both made their presence felt last weekend at Delta Speedway.

Coming into the Delta Speedway Labor Day tradition the Lovenburg brothers presented themselves as wild cards of sorts not being Delta regulars. The Delta Speedway faithful weren’t sure what to expect out of the boys from the south.

What they got was a showcase of speed and potential.

Cash almost got himself a victory at Delta back in March. He lead almost the entire race before an early season mistake cost him the top spot. Since that night he’s been looking for redemption at the San Joaquin county fairgrounds. Heading into Saturday night Cash came in on the momentum of a weekend sweep. Just seven days prior, Cash earned his 7th victory of the season, and first win at Lemoore in almost three months.

For Ty, he learned that he enjoys charging through the pack back at Clay Cup. Ever since then, his performance has grown leaps and bounds. Right now he’s climbing as a contender, and seeking top five finishes everywhere he goes. Sunday night he checked the box on his wish and goal.

Saturday night started out decent for the team. Cash finished second in his first heat, Ty sixth. The Delta format still runs two heat races so both saw another opportunity at the track. Cash actually finished one spot further back in his second attempt as Ty climbed to third in his run.

None of it mattered when both boys lined up for the night-one feature. Cash took the green from the fifth position, as Ty looked-on a couple rows back from ninth. As the main went on both boys managed to make their way forward. Cash climbed through regulars and one-timers to creep into third. Ty locked down a pass and ended eighth.

Night one could be defined as good by any standard but not great by the Lovenburg’s standards.

Sunday night presented a new opportunity to do it all over again. Cash and Ty hit the track for The Duel at Delta finale determined to improve upon their night-one scores, and show the field they came to play.

Come feature time the boys were ready to shine. During the night-two feature, Cash stepped up and presented himself as the contender to potentially knock off the Delta Jr Sprint dominator. He kept him honest, and presented the challenge, but in the end he could not complete the move on the Delta Speedway points leader. Cash brought the 21 home with the runner-up spot, earning his 20th podium of the 2019 season.

Ty on the other hand had a Clay Cup repeat. He charged through the field with fierce precision. He climbed seven spots into the top five. Sunday nights charge earned Ty his seventh top five of 2019. Ty is beginning to establish himself as one of the next guys to emerge as a contender in this, current ultra-competitive, Jr Sprint division. Judging by recent runs, Ty has many more top fives and podiums to come in his future.

This weekend Lovenburg Racing returns to the home tracks with Plaza Friday and Lemoore Saturday. Ty sits well within the top 5 at Plaza and on the brink of the top 5 at Lemoore. Cash, on the other hand, currently sits atop the Jr Sprint standings at Plaza and looks to carry the lead all the way down to the title. At Lemoore he has closed the gap significantly and presented a fight for the title. Both local championship hang in the balance with the season now in the home stretch.
