Torgerson Bros Each Enjoy Strong Dual at Delta

Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider – Driver Exclusive. MEDFORD, Ore. (September 4, 2019) – Ashton and Austin Torgerson both took away something from last weekends Dual at Delta that gives them plenty of reasons to be confident moving forward.

For Ashton, it was another podium finish Saturday night back up his win from just a week earlier in Dixon. His runner up finish marked his 10th podium of the season, 13th top five, and 32nd top ten in just 41 starts. Ashton Torgerson kept the number 02 TEN-J within the top ten during every event on track during the two night show.

For Austin, it was his quick time performance Sunday night against the entire fleet of Golden State guns in the non wing class. Following a decent Saturday, Austin came out swinging for the fences on Sunday. He put the 88 to the top of the board ahead of names like Moles, Smith, Carey and the entire California crew of competitors. From that point forward he stuck within the top 10 all night long.

The weekend at Delta Speedway kicked off Saturday night for Torgerson Racing. They arrived in Stockton ready for the Dual at Delta dawning familiar colors on Ashton’s new car, and a fresh Powerplant in Austin’s, ready to rip. Ashton got the weekend underway with 7th quick in Restricted Qualifying while Austin timed in 19th in the non wing class.

In heat race action Ashton came home second in Restricted. Austin started 6th and finished 5th in his heat. With all heat races behind them both brothers geared up for the first main events of the weekend. Ashton was up First with his 25 lap Delta Speedway Race 12 Restricted feature where he started second.

Ashton paced the field to green from the outside of row one before lighting the candles and dropping the hammer. He was lightning fast in the feature. He turned the fastest lap of the main event by over .167 over the eventual winner. However he could not get to the checkered flag first and picked up the runner up bid.

Austin started 14th in his night one main event and finished 12th. He came into Sunday night looking for more. Boy, he sure delivered.

Qualifying on Sunday night was the highlight of the weekend for Austin Torgerson. His number lit up the board with quick time. He then followed it up with forth in his heat and the eighth place starting position in the feature.

In the non wing finale on Sunday night Austin was able to keep the 88 in the top 10 and advance up to a respectable 7th. As for Ashton, his Sunday wasn’t quite as good as his Saturday. He dropped back five positions in the feature to round out his weekend 9th. But this weekend the attention turns to a big opportunity for Ashton.

Saturday night Torgerson Racing travels back to Dixon Speedway. Ashton leads the charge for race 12 as the Restricted class points leader. With four points races remaining he holds a 20 point advantage coming in on the heels of victory. He’ll look to repeat that performance and gain maximum points on Saturday.

Austin comes into the weekend reeling with confidence. His new validation could bode well for his overall results this weekend as well. He also holds the knowledge that he’s soon to join his little brother as a pilot for TEN-J Chassis.

Big things are happening at Torgerson Racing.
