Bettencourt On the Cusps of Championship Glory

Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. TULARE, Calif. (September 9, 2019)- Bryson Bettencourt picked up his sixth Stock 600 win of the 2019 season Friday night at Keller Auto Raceway Plaza Park.

As the season winds down Bettencourt is starting to put a stamp on his Stock class title campaign. Following his win Friday night he now holds a 101 point lead in the Stock Class at Keller Auto Raceway with two races remaining. After his runner up bid Saturday at Lemoore his points margin now sits at 93 above second with three races remaining.

Bettencourt has been running a championship-level program all season long. With 20 features under his belt he has finished in the top 10 in every one of them. In 19 of them he has been in the top five, and 14 times on the podium. Friday night was his sixth win and his season low is a sixth place finish. Bettencourt has been nothing less than championship caliber.

He did it again Friday night. At the end of the night he was on the top step of the podium again with a night sweep. He went fastest in qualifying. He won his heat race. Topping it all off he put the 15B out front of the 25-lap feature and took it all the way. His season at Plaza has been one of the best of all classes as he’s earned a jaw-dropping 849 total points.

Saturday night he again travelled over to Lemoore Raceway where he’s also chasing down the championship crown. Saturday didn’t go quite as well as Friday but he still put it on the podium and beat his title rivals. He started off the night with quick time but finished third in his heat race.

He rolled to the green flag in Saturday’s main event from the fourth position. After another 25 laps he picked up two spots and tried to run down the leader, but it wasn’t enough. He brought the 15B home with the second spot. In the big picture of things it was a great night, he increased his points lead to 93 with just three races to go.

Up next for Bettencourt he has the opportunity to close out the Plaza Park title. On Friday September 20, Keller Auto Raceway turns the lights on for the 3rd Annual Mark Hagopian Memorial. The MHM is the crown jewel for Plaza Park and this year it closes out the season. Two nights of racing are once again on deck. Friday counts as race 10 and Saturday is the season finale race 11.

With a 101 point lead Bryson Bettencourt could very well be the 2019 Keller Auto Raceway Stock Class Champion by the end of Saturday night of #MHM19 .
