Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. VISALIA, Calif. (October 5, 2019)- Brian Gilbert might be the most excited driver in the pits at Delta Speedway tonight.
After the results that Gilbert put up in the 4g last weekend at Lemoore Raceway getting back in the car at one of his favorite tracks is something he’s been looking forward to all week.
Last weekend at Lemoore Raceway Gilbert not only came away with two runner up bids, he did so in stellar fashion. In each event on the night he improved his performance all the way into the main event. In the Stock main event he tucked in behind the leader and stayed there. He held his ground in second and turned in consistent lap times all the way down the charts to match.
However it was last weekends super 600 main event that gives him the confidence he has rolling into tonight. He gave Mitchel Moles a challenge. He’s the hottest driver in the nation by way of results. He has 30 plus wins. He’s been crowned champion at tracks already this year. But Brian our the 4G in there and went for it. In Saturday’s Super 600 main event he started fourth and blitzed through the field to challenge the leader. His lap time may have been third quick on the charts but the consistency by which he laid them down speaks volumes.
Brian Gilbert is hungry to win and he knows he can do it.
Winning the super 600 class would be special. By all accounts it is the premier class of Micro Sprint racing. After running as well as he did last weekend he’s got that winning feeling again. It’s no secret the biggest key to success for a race car driver is confidence. With a show like last weekend so close in his rear view Brian Gilbert May just be stirring that winning potion as we speak.
He’s running the Gilbert/Mack Racing 4G in the Super 600 class at Stockton, California’s Delta Speedway tonight. Since his very first laps on the Delta surface he’s been lightning fast. A win against the best from the south and the north could be just what the doctor ordered for the driver of the 4G to move himself into the next echelon of drivers.
It’s happening as we speak. Delta Speedway is off and running with their final points race of 2019.
