Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. Driver Exclusive- BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (October 21, 2019) – > Brody Fuson was back at it at Lemoore Raceway’s final point race of the season, – back at breaking records that is.
On Friday October 11, 2019 Brody Fuson did something that hadn’t been done in eight years prior. When he went out to qualify in the non wing 600 class he made history once again.
Eight years ago, on October 7, 2011, a young driver named Dominic Scelzi set the Lemoore Raceway Non Wing track record at 11.228 seconds. For nearly a decade, over 120 events, and thousands of attempts, attempts by some of the worlds best drivers, it could not be touched.
Then the 14 year old sensation out of Bakersfield, California, went out on a crisp, cool October evening and lit up the scoreboard, writing another page in history.
“The kid is an absolute animal behind the wheel,” said Dominic Scelzi. “Records are meant to be broken.”
If judging by Scelzi’s endorsement and the reality of where Scelzi is today is any indication of the potential of Fuson, it’s off the charts. If there were many doubters before 2019, he’s putting them to bed with each passing week.
The rest of the Budweiser Grand Prix ended with a 5th place finish in the non wing main event. His finish accounted for his 17th Non Wing top five in 28 features this season. Doubling up he earned a top five with the wing on as well. In significantly less starts, Fuson boasts several top fives in Super 600 as well.
It’s been more than a breakout season for Fuson. It’s been a burst through any shadows of doubt staking his claim as one of the future stars of the sport. At this point not very many are denying his capabilities. He’s already handling every next venture with confidence and precision.
The future is very bright for the phenom from Bakersfield. He is one of THE prodigies in the Prodigy Generation. Keep your eyes on the young driver of the 51 as his name will be lighting up a scoreboard at a track near you. No matter where you live.
Brody Fuson is the future and the future is now.
