Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. Driver Exclusive- MADERA, Calif. (December 16, 2019) – > Logan Trevino picked up his 19th podium of the season in the final race of 2019 at Keller Auto Raceway Plaza Park’s Turkey Night on November 15.
After hurting his motor the previous weekend at the California Cup the TEN-J crew was able to slide another power plant inside of the 7t allowing him to give Turkey Night at Plaza a go. Being just his third start inside of the TEN-J, on his second different track, every lap in the new car is beneficial. With Tulsa on the brink, Trevino’s Turkey Night run served as a confidence booster heading into the big one.
Turkey Night kicked off with Trevino turning the fastest overall lap in hot laps for the Restricted 600 division by .147 seconds. The night was off to a good start. After hot laps Trevino strapped in to qualify and churned up a third quick run. He tuned in third on the charts with an 11.774, just .101 off of quick time.
The heat race may have been Trevino’s most promising run of the evening. After starting the ten lap affair from the third position he was able to charge through the field and take the win. He got the heat win and turned in the second fastest lap of the race. His lap was just .007, or seven one-hundredths, off the fastest time.
As the main event drew nearer Logan Trevino was looking like he had a sincere chance at grabbing his sixth win of the season in the final race.
Trevino rolled out for the 25 lap feature from the pole position. He would lead the Restricted field to green. As the green flag dropped he relented the lead and filed into second. The main event sustained a long green flag run as Trevino held the rest of the field at bay. He tried to catch the leader but in the end it was too late. Logan Trevino came across the stripe in second place earning his 19th podium of 2019 and his 29th top five.
In a total of 32 main events this year Trevino was able to finish within the top ten in 31 of them. Trevino won on three different tracks and claimed the Delta Speedway Restricted Track Championship. With five total victories to his credit he’ll take that momentum with him to the granddaddy of them all – the Tulsa Shootout.
Up next for Trevino he’ll make his maiden voyage to the Tulsa Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the biggest micro sprint race on the planet. Trevino will be running the Prosperi/Trevino number 7t in the Restricted A-Class in search of the coveted Golden Driller. Over the past two seasons a driver from this region has either won the Restricted title, or come very close. Logan Trevino looks to keep that tradition in tact and be the next central California standout to bring home a driller.
