Pahule Closes out 2019 with strong Turkey Night at Plaza

Prodigy Race Promotions on Sprint Car Insider. Driver Exclusive. BRENTWOOD, Calif. (November 16, 2019) – Jeffrey Pahule Jr finished his 2019 campaign strong with his 24th top five of the year and second top five in just his fifth super 600 start at Turkey Night at Plaza.

Coming to Turkey Night marked the 40th event of the year for the 44x and Pahule family racing. However it was only the fifth time young Pahule was to hit the track in the Super 600 division. Coming to Plaza effectively marked the final box for tracks to be ran in super. In just his fifth race in the class Pahule came to conquer one of the most technical tracks in racing. Plaza Park has a storied legacy of being the Track some of the best could never tackle, but that didn’t stop the 44x. He was not fazed. In fact, Jeffrey Pahule Jr closed out 2019 by giving everyone more reason to count him in as a favorite for Super 600 as 2020 rolls around.

Being held in mid November the Plaza surface was once again conducive to ultra fast speeds. In 2018 the track record was broken, the 2019 edition displayed nearly identical conditions, presenting a new challenge: managing that speed on a surface that can jump up and bite given any mistake. With that variable in mind, and another jaw droopingly close field, the stage was set.

Pahule timed in 8th quick with a 10.917 in qualifying. He timed in 8th quick but sat only .442 seconds off of quick time, that’s how close the field was. In the heat race Pahule was able to manage a third place finish with a laptime good enough for third overall in heat races. His 10.709 was blistering fast. As the main event came closer it was apparent that anyone could win.

According to the speed charts the 44x had every bit as much a chance as anyone else to take home the checkers. He started the 30-lap affair from the 7th position. The green flag dropped and Jeffrey Pahule Jr dropped the hammer for the 40th and final time of the season. As had been the theme of so many races this season, Pahule made a show out of moving forward. He climbed his way into the top five and continued to charge. He churned up a valiant performance. His lap time was the fourth best on track, he kept the leaders in sight, and he took the 44x to a fifth place finish. His top five accounted for his second career super 600 top five, and his 24th overall this season. He finished in the top five in four more than half his entire races.

As Pahule closed out 2019 not a single element about Plaza Park, or the field he ran against, intimidated him in the least. Pahule has continued to showcase the qualities of a champion. His short time since his debut in Super 600 has exemplified all of them. The field knows he’s sure to be a threat moving forward. If the 44x himself has realized this, the Golden State may just be in trouble. Jeffrey Pahule jr is on a mission to win; and he’s just getting started.

After 40 features with three wins, 24 top fives, and 32 top tens, Jeffrey Pahule jr closed the book on a very successful 2019 campaign. Now the anticipation builds as the countdown to 2020 has begun. Will the 44x be the next super 600 standout?

There’s only one way to find out…
